RV travelers heading east or west on Interstate 76 will find Buffalo Hills Campground & RV Park positioned just off the highway near Sterling. This privately managed facility operates year-round and primarily caters to RVers with full hookups, though tent sites are available. The campground accommodates rigs up to 60 feet with electric, water, and sewer connections at each RV site.
Most sites cluster closely together in an open layout, with the majority occupied by RVs during summer months. Tent campers work with smaller, uneven ground areas that include picnic tables, though fire pits are limited. The facility includes restroom and shower buildings, with Juanita R. noting "bathrooms were large and clean" with "plenty of hot water in the morning." A laundry room provides additional convenience for extended stays.
The campground features a pool and hot tub area, though maintenance varies seasonally. A dump station with non-potable water serves those needing to empty tanks before departure. Staff handle reservations through their website, and the property allows pets. Campers can expect sandy soil conditions and should prepare for potential plant debris, particularly those setting up tents directly on the ground.
For additional camping options in the region, travelers can explore places to camp near Sterling or consider nearby alternatives like Logan County Fairgrounds for different amenities.
