BLM Dispersed off Mt. Blanca Rd (Lake Como Rd) — San Luis Valley

Description

Open BLM high-desert flatland at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, this wide dispersed area along Mt. Blanca Road (Lake Como Road) delivers sweeping views of Mt. Blanca and the broad San Luis Valley floor, with Great Sand Dunes National Park roughly 20 minutes away. The lower reach of the road is graded dirt suitable for RVs and trailers; beyond about a mile the surface deteriorates sharply and demands 4WD or high clearance. Wind is a reliable companion out here — the exposed valley setting leaves little shelter — so come prepared.
