Laughing Buddha RV/Tent Camp

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Sitting in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Nevada County, Laughing Buddha RV/Tent Camp operates as a private homestead site outside North San Juan, with the South Yuba River corridor close enough that hosts field regular questions about swimming holes and hiking routes. The site accommodates vans, tent campers, and small trailers, and electric and water hookups are available for those who want them. Cell service is listed as available, which reviewers confirm makes it easy to coordinate with the host.

The site centers on a large deck with chairs, giving campers a defined gathering space without requiring them to bring their own furniture. A fire pit is on-site, firewood is available from the host, and the surrounding trees provide shade without dense undergrowth. Reviewers consistently note the quiet, with coyotes in the distance being the main sound after dark. The host, Galen, draws repeated mention for being responsive and available without being intrusive.

Steven E. describes it as "a very nice, private spot, with a large deck." At $55 per night, the rate reflects the hookups and on-site amenities. Nearby campgrounds including Purdon Crossing and Chris Terry Owen provide additional options along the same river drainage for those planning a longer stay in the area. Campers who want a hosted site with infrastructure and direct access to Yuba River recreation will find this worth a look.

Magical and Peaceful!

This spot was perfect for me and my van. It was quiet and private, but close to the hosts so they visited when I had questions about the best spots for swimming and hiking nearby. I loved the beautiful deck and enjoyed coffee in the morning in one of their cushioned rocking chairs. It’s an amazing location, so close to the Yuba River and surrounded by spectacular wildflowers and oaks. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous, Well-Kept, and Well-Managed Campground

This was a very nice, private spot, with a large deck for my tent and water and electricity if needed (I didn't but it was nice to know it was there).  The space was unsurpassed for quiet and privacy, with plenty of trees but not choked with underbrush.

There was much to explore in the area, and I was able to get my questions answered quickly.  I'm happy I picked it, and would go again!

Great site in NorCal

We really enjoyed the Laughing Buddha site. We brought a small trailer that back right along the large deck. Had a fire in the fire pit and enjoyed the quiet(except for the coyotes in the distance!). Galen, our host, was always available to answer questions and to bring extra firewood. Next time we will stay longer– there is so much to do in this area!

We loved having you! Glad you were able to enjoy the river even though it was too dangerous to swim with the insane year we are having with snow melt!
