Within San Bernardino National Forest, South Fork Family Campground operates as a Forest Service facility from May through October. The campground sits directly off the highway, which creates consistent road noise from mountain traffic throughout the day and night. Sites are spaced well apart and operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
A camp host maintains the vault toilets and keeps the facility clean. Water spigots are distributed between campsites, and firewood is available for purchase on-site. The campground allows pets and campfires, with picnic tables at each site. Verizon cell service is not available at the campsites. The highway proximity makes this spot accessible but less quiet than more remote campgrounds near San Bernardino National Forest.
