Rollins Lake Getaway

35 minutes to Sugar Bowl and Summit Ski Areas. Close to I-80.

Our guest suite is a clean, beautiful and fun space with a small deck and separate entrance just a few minutes walk down to the water at Rollins Lake or a very short walk down to The Bear River for a nice hike. We have a beautiful yard and large veggie garden and fantastic 360 degree views. Bring your kids and your water toys for a fun lake retreat. Ask about other accommodations available on our property for extra guests.

OUR RENTAL- Decorated for the Holidays! Holiday tree and decor. You will be very cozy here and won't want to leave!!

(Appx.900-1000sf), Connected to our home with a Separate Entrance AND separate Driveway/ Parking Area. Lovely, spacious, and comfortable with unique personal belongings that include artwork, musical instruments, pinball games etc. This is not you typical air bnb with some home decor thrown in from Home Goods.

Large private property with gorgeous views all around you can enjoy from the windows or deck.

1 BEDROOM-

Separate room with door, a very comfortable and new King Size bed and linens. Also a Restoration Hardware chaise lounge in the bedroom (Very comfortable) great for sinking in and reading a good book. There is room for a pack n play crib or an air mattress (I don't provide these, but I do have 2 folding foam mats I can supply with linens with extra guest fee if you let me know ahead of time you need it), in the bedroom, if necessary.

ENTERTAINMENT in the bedroom- Large TV with Netflix ect and a Playstation 3.

LIVING ROOM-

Seating-area with deep Lounge sofa by Crate n Barrel. Great for sleeping on because of how deep it is. Two kids or 1 adult and 1 child would fit on the sofa. Or you can move the coffee table and put down an air mattress ( I don't provide, but I do have 2 folding foam mats I can supply with linens with extra guest fee. Please let me know before your arrival so I can have them ready for you). And a leather armchair.

LIVING ROOM ENTERTAINMENT-

Entertainment A 65” Smart TV with all the apps.

There is a piano and 2 pinball games in this room.

Guitars- feel free to strum a song if you know how.

Also a small dining table with 3 chairs.

COMFORT-

There are extra throw blankets that I wash frequently so they are soft, fluffy and smell good for your comfort!

BATHROOM -

With double sinks (one sink is used for a dish area for the kitchenette), large shower and private toilet room. Professional salon shampoo and conditioner.

KITCHENETTE-

In main bathroom area there is a normal sized refrigerator, shelving unit with microwave, toaster oven , George Foreman Grill, coffee maker, electric water kettle, coffee, tea, sugar etc., plates , cups, bowls, utensils. My version of a kitchenette.

I always have an assortment of yummy snacks and drinks in provided so you are not racing to town if you have not gone shopping yet.

This is a fun place with stadium seats , games, music posters etc. There are a few children's books. Books and games located in cabinet under bedroom TV.

DECK SEATING-

There is a small deck at the entrance to sit on and enjoy your coffee and views.

On the deck there is a bench for two, two hanging swing chairs and two other chairs.

I also have two Tommy Bahama backpack chairs on the deck you can use down at the lake.

OCCUPANCY-

This place would be great for 2 adults but would also be great for 2 adults and a child. I made it available for up to 5 people because it's possible if you want to be cozy. Sometimes when we travel with a group we don't mind that for a few days when will will be out exploring anyway. You just have to understand that with more people your space gets SMALLER. I hope that everyone can respect our furniture, belongings etc. when there are extra guests.

I don’t have a washer/ dryer downstairs in the apartment but I will WASH and DRY a load for a fee.

Guest access

GUEST ACCESS-

This listing is for the DOWNSTAIRS FLOOR of our home which is separated by an indoor staircase that has a door at the top which will be locked. It has a private deck and parking area.

SEPARATE ENTRANCE-

From the back of our home with a separate driveway. You can park there and access this space by the STAIRS up to the separate deck and French doors. You will have to make a 3 point turn around in the parking area to get out. Just channel you inner Austin Powers and it's a piece of cake. This is a gravel driveway but everyone has made it up. Even tiny cars!

Unfortunately this is NOT an a good fit for people who have accessibility needs. We have STAIRS and it would not be possible for a wheelchair to access the unit.

Our property is 420 FRIENDLY!!!! But it must be smoked, vaped etc. OUTSIDE!!!

Please NO CIGARETTES in or outside. We all know that not only are they horrible for your health, they smell awful. So sorry, if you need to smoke tobacco then this might not be the place for you. NO SMOKING TOBACCO ON THE PROPERTY! Thank You!

WE ARE ALL INCLUSIVE-

We hope you and your guests be as well. We do NOT DISCRIMINATE or push any political views and we expect the same. We are Peace, Love and Acceptance of ALL. That means all races, genders, orientations or whatever else you can think of. Let's all work together to love one another because we are all on the same team. Plus this is my home and I don't need any drama or funky vibes. You are on vacay so enjoy!

ALSO-

I take great pride in my home and I work very hard for it to be immaculate, beautiful and ready for my family, friends and guests. If you can't be respectful of us or our property then this place isn't for you. (I’ve never come across anyone yet who hasn’t been perfectly awesome!)

With that being said, this is not a Marriott. Small problems may arise because this is a home. I will do everything in my power to handle any issues. A water pipe could break (highly unlikely), we could have a power outage (we sometimes have rolling blackouts in summer if there is a high fire danger or if there is a snow storm), we will do our best with a generator. Just saying that there is some level of understanding that goes along with renting. So please be cool and understanding :) , or an a short term rental may not be for you.

NOTE-

We do live here. So you may hear us or see us at times or our pets. I love spending time in my yard. We try to keep our noise level down when we have guests but you still may hear us. And you may not ever see us! You never know. We have lives outside the home.

LAKE ACCESS-

Your deck can access our yard, where you will pass through, to walk down to the lake. It will take you several minutes to walk down to the water. There is a decent little hill at the bottom that is steep. We have chiseled out steps as well as a rope tied to to the tree that can help steady you on the way down. I use it, my husband doesn't and my kid runs down it. It’s not a big deal. We are always up and down that hill to the water.

LAKE TOY RENTALS- Weather and Season Permitting

We will rent equipment as long as the weather permits. Fishing boat is available year round in nice weather.

PADDLING- I have 2 Paddle Boards I rent out for the day for $90. I will bring them to the lake and get you set up with all of your accessories.(leashes, life vests, paddle)

1 Mega Paddle Board that holds up to 1000lbs. So 4 people & a Dog! $120 for the day. Including 4 life vests, paddles and fun! Very Stable!!!

Or 2 Kayaks for $100 for the day with all accessories. (life vests, paddles) Just let me know what time you'd like them launched and then give me a call when you are ready have them be picked up.

We charge less than the Rollins Boat Rental and I have nicer equipment.

FISHING BOAT-We have a small fishing boat that will fit 3 people that we rent for $275. That is including a full tank of gas that will last you an entire day. Even if you are not fishing it is fun to zip around the lake and check out different swim spots. We will take you, with the boat, pay launch fee and place you in the water until you are ready to come back. We are very flexible with the amount of time. One tank of gas will last many, many hours.

We also have contact information for someone local who rents out their beautiful new PONTOON boat here in Colfax. I've been on the boat, it's new, wonderful and comfortable. (this is what I recommend, nicer and less expensive that the boat rental place.) (Put away for this season, sorry)

Rollins Boat rental is 10 min away by car or 15 by foot and they have kayaks, paddle boards, pontoon boats, ski boats etc. (Closed for 2022 Season)

There is also a floating slide for kids and adults! This is over at Long Ravine Campground. You can also walk there in about 15 min. (Closed for 2022 season)

Accessing the lake is just a 3 minute walk to the water from here where you can post up for the day. We like to bring food, chairs and floaties. It's really great.

I have made a Welcome book with important phone numbers and information about the house and local activities.

We want your stay to be as enjoyable as possible. Don't hesitate to ask for help, information or whatever!

Other things to note

AIR CONDITIONING- we have central air in the house that is controlled upstairs. You do have a vent in the living room and bedroom that can be opened and closed. Please text if you need it cooler or warmer. We keep it on the cooler side in summer during the day and if its cool at night we turn it off and open the windows.

And when it cools down at night we open the windows and you have a nice fan that goes in the bedroom window that feels fantastic! Unless it's too warm and we keep the AC on during the night. Unfortunately Summer 2022 has been a hot one so we have been running the AC around the clock for everyone's comfort.

HEAT-

Central heating. There is a vent above the bed and one above the sofa that can be opened or closed to adjust temperature. We can also raise or lower the temp. But the apartment is usually always very comfortable.

PETS-

We do have pets. And although they do not live downstairs they do slip down there at times. Also we allow air bnb guests to bring pets. So if you are allergic to dogs or cats I don’t recommend it here for you. But when we have friends stay with us who are allergic to animals, they do stay in the downstairs guest unit because it is separate from our living space above where the animals live and we wash the carpet frequently.

WE ALLOW PETS-

We don't mind well behaved dogs who are good with cats. Our dogs are very friendly. Make sure you ADD your well behaved pet to your RESERVATION. There is a fee associated. I wash the carpets and clean nose smudges off windows after a pet checks out. Please let me know if you need dog bowls during your stay!
