Joshua Tree RV & Campground

Visiting Joshua Tree National Park puts campers within reach of some of the Mojave's most distinctive hiking and rock formations, and Joshua Tree RV & Campground sits close to the park's northwest entrance gate, making it a practical base for day trips. Sites are set on sand with no shade, so sun exposure is a real factor, especially in warmer months. The campground accepts RVs up to 50 feet and provides full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, along with WiFi and on-site showers.

Cleanliness is the most consistent theme across reviews. Bathrooms are well-maintained, and the common area includes laundry facilities, picnic tables, a microwave, and a BBQ. Management rents every other site, which gives campers a bit more breathing room than a fully packed lot. The campground sits adjacent to a public park with a skate area and dog-friendly green space. Noise from Highway 62 is worth noting, with some reviewers mentioning traffic sounds at night.

The town of Joshua Tree is close enough to resupply, grab a meal, or explore local spots like the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Museum. Campers who want to compare nearby options can also look at Joshua Tree Village Camping or Coyote Gultch Hideout in the area. Rates run $25 to $60 per night, and advance reservations are required with a minimum 15-hour booking window. "All the amenities you could ask for and solid cleanliness," notes Ron G. This campground works best for RV travelers who prioritize hookups and easy park access over shade or seclusion.

Many mentioned extremely friendly hosts and clean facilities with full hookups as key strengths. Some road noise from Highway 62 and small site sizes were noted concerns. Good value location near Joshua Tree with helpful community amenities.

Hunkering Down next to Joshua Tree

We stopped in visiting Joshua Tree National Park. This is located very close to the Northwest side of park. The RV park is very easy to get to. There are not a lot of options for places to camp. The Dispersed lots have a lot of trash. This is a clean location, very very expensive though. You will pay premium price for no shade and to park in a sand lot. There is a nice little park adjacent to this but that’s the only plus.

Clean, safe and friendly spot

Located close to the town of Joshua Tree so you can still grab a bite to eat if you’re not up to cooking. Easy access to the west entry gate but this gate tends to get busy on holiday weekends. Campground is clean and quiet. They rent every other spot so you’re not quite on top of your neighbors. Camp staff super helpful and friendly. Bring your own table as outdoor tables are limited. Nice community area with picnic tables, microwave, bbq, and games.

Cannot book 15 hours before

The sites is really small. You cannot do same day booking so remember to book 15 hours before. Cannot do star gazing as this site is close by the Main Street.

Daydreaming In The Desert

On a chilly night in November, the Mrs and I needed a place to rest our heads after visiting Joshua Tree National Park. This campground surpassed our expectations. All the amenities you could ask for and solid cleanliness. We couldn't ask for a better location.

Super nice hosts!

Extremely friendly hosts! We went during off season in the middle of December, so the lot was basically completely empty. The owners were super kind and let us pick wherever we wanted to stay. Clean bathrooms and a nice common area with seats and laundry. Good price in comparison to nearby lots. Very close to restaurants and stores. We felt very safe there! Joshua free national park is always nice, but our other favorite local spot is the Noah Purifoy Outdoor Desert Museum. Great stay!

Low key, well maintained, great place!

This is the perfect place if you want to check out the downtown part of JT! It can get a bit noisy w cars on the 62 however. Had a few loud ones pass at odd ends of the night. Its right next to a park where the kids can skate, play and you can take your doggos! We had a little issue w our RV and the manager was more than happy to come help me look at it! They are amazing here! 💚
