Granite Pass Dispersed — Mojave National Preserve

Description

Open BLM high-desert terrain studded with boulders near Granite Pass in Mojave National Preserve spreads around this dispersed spot along a spur just south of the East Mojave Heritage Trail at roughly 3,800 feet — sheltered enough from prevailing desert winds to make a genuine difference on cold nights. The access track is in reasonable shape and has handled small trailers and cargo vans without trouble. Surrounding terrain opens up quickly for hiking and rock climbing, and several nearby clearings offer additional options for spreading out.
