Description
Chloride City Road climbs into the high desert hills at the eastern edge of Death Valley National Park, branching off Daylight Pass Road into rugged terrain with wide-open views and deep quiet — no cell service, no facilities, and no fires permitted. Camping is prohibited for the first mile; beyond that threshold the road opens to dispersed pullouts large enough for multiple vehicles, though the rocky, at times technical surface demands high clearance and 4WD, particularly past the initial flat spot around the 1.2-mile mark. The location sits between the historic Rhyolite ghost-town corridor and the park interior, making it a practical overnight base for either direction.
