Along the S22 corridor through the Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area, this open gravel flat sits where the road meets a stretch of low desert canyons in the Colorado Desert of southern California. The area is a hub for OHV activity — ATV traffic runs late into the evening, so expect noise after dark.
