Description
Perched in the Mazatzal foothills of Tonto National Forest, this open clearing on Forest Service Road 3422 sits close to Rye Creek and delivers wide-open views across the valley toward Black Mountain and surrounding ridgelines. The cobbled forest road makes for a bumpy approach, but the clearing levels out and is spacious enough for a large rig or several smaller vehicles. Strong cell signal comes through reliably, and highway noise from AZ 87 is minimal despite the road being visible in the distance. The Barnhardt Waterfall Trail is a short drive up the same forest road.
