Nice rim view, fwd car, cell service

There are many spots off FR218 where you can pull off and back up basically to the edge of the rim with your car, or at most a 100 foot walk to the rim. I recommend setting up your tent slightly into the trees to block the wind unless you’re into all that noise from your tent. The further east you go down 218 the better my tent mobile service gets. They also do logging out here and as of July 26 2025, they just leveled and and packed gravel down do the road is accessible for non 4x4 cars. I brought my Chevy trax which is front wheel drive and had zero issues. Just watch for larger rocks once you pull off obviously.

Milk Ranch Point Road

Loved this spot! Good roads in. Great views. Some trees, but a lot in this area were burned. No amenities, so pack out what you bring in. Decent cell service.

Gorgeous views

Beautiful views of the rim. Not a steep drop off so safe for having dogs around very windy im assuming bc of the location. Dirt road coming in but not bad at all. Easy to get our travel trailer in and out. Right off the road can see and hear cars going by

Easy spot to access

Went down here mid August and it was a beautiful view. Thick tree coverage which hid us from the winds that day / night and the rim was a 200 foot walk away. Able to get there in my Chevy Trax which is front wheel drive only, without any problems. There are there are plenty of spot to pull off into on that forest road. If you don’t get this exact spot just keep driving the road and you’ll find something in no time. A lot of dead trees laying around for firewood, but did need axe and hacksaw to cut size them down. Area had a lot of pine needles on the ground.
