Coconino National Forest's dispersed camping along FR 135 puts campers near the base of Hutch Mountain, about 35 miles south of Flagstaff, with free sites spread across a roughly three-mile stretch of FR 135B. No water is on-site. Campers have sourced it from Mormon Lake, Flagstaff, or Sedona, each within an hour's drive. AT&T and Cricket users should expect no cell service in the immediate area. Cows roam the surrounding land, and the forest roads are generally manageable for two-wheel-drive vehicles, though big rigs tend to cluster near the Lake Mary Road entrance. Crowds can build, especially in the main area, so driving further in along 135B gives better odds of finding an open site.
