Description
Kaibab National Forest's open plateau country southeast of the Grand Canyon's East Entrance puts this dispersed corridor about 15 minutes from the park boundary, with wide northern views and evening skies that rival anything inside the gates. Multiple pullouts line Forest Service Road 2815, most with established rock fire rings; the first pullout off the main road is accessible to vans and most rigs, while sites farther up the washboarded gravel track are better suited to high-clearance vehicles. Winds can be strong through the afternoon but tend to settle after sunset, leaving the nights quiet and cool.
