Sheep Creek Access Area

Managed by the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Sheep Creek Access Area sits about a mile off the highway down a gravel road in good condition. No fee. The area has roughly ten unnumbered spots arranged in two loops, each with a fire ring, plus vault toilets and a short hiking trail down to the river for fishing. RVs up to 45 feet can fit the gravel pull-ins. Anglers looking for camping spots near Willow will find this a functional overnight stop, while Susitna Landing Boat Launch & Campground a few miles south provides an alternative with additional facilities.

Just more than dispersed

There are vaults toilets. a hiking trail to the river to fish. No numbered spots. Two loops where people park in front of a fire ring. Only about 10 spots. No fee. Quiet. Good for a layover because it is free. I suspect some campers are locals as we are here on a Saturday
