Pinochle Trail Campground
Description
Flat gravel spaces at Pinochle Trail Campground in Glacier View Alaska. Great hiking, biking, ATV or snow machine on historic trail. Tents, trucks, cars, Campers, RVs, dog sleds… whatever you can fit is welcome.
20 open spaces with picnic tables and fire rings. Just pick the best available camp space that works for you on arrival or call or text to reserve your favorite site in advance.
You will need to bring your own water and keep a clean camp. Please take your trash with you. We provide water for the campfire use only located near campsite nr 18. Thank you for camping with us.
Currently there are 2 dry cabins with Electricity for rent on the Campground property.
Amazing views of the Matanuska Glacier, Lions Head, Chugiak Mountains and Talkertna Range.
Pinochle Trail is right across the street from the Campground and goes into backcountry for around 12 miles and joins other trails. It is a section of the ancient Knik Nelchina Trail used by native people of Alaska, trappers, miners and hunters.

Also, just a quick heads up, directions coming from Anchorage to the campground from the Glenn Highway: *pass the Glacier View Church on the left, *pass mile marker 99 *left turn on Pinochle Ln. *look for the Pinochle Trail Campground sign on the left (brown with white letters) * turn into pinochle trail campground. You will see cabins #1 & #2 We hope this helps.
