Whitefish campground is located just off the Elliot Highway along the shore of the Chatanika River.  8 campsites, a reservable picnic shelter, boat launch, and day use parking are accessible seasonally, along with restrooms, potable water, and refuse service. This campground is not maintained in the winter months.  Overnight camping, boat launch, and daily parking fees are in effect seasonally.

We as of right now can provide a 12x 12 wall tent, which will eventually be on a raised platform. 2 more to be added by end of summer 2021. We also offer a couple of flat areas were you can pop up your own tent or park your RV. 

We are centrally located between Fairbanks, North Pole and Chena Hot Spring Resort. We have fishing guide business and love to spend time in the great outdoors. We can offer advice on interesting things to do and see. Give us a call!!

Until May 21st and after August 21st, there may be a chance to see the Northern Lights. Need some rest? Plan for a lazy day at the campground - sit and relax at the patio by the river, play some outdoor games, or enjoy one of our propane fire pits while watching beautiful sunsets - but be advised - you may need to stay up late for that. Tanana Valley Campground

The main campground, consisting of 78 vehicle and five walk-in sites, is located in a spruce/birch forest. Many vehicle sites are large enough to accommodate large motor homes or trailers. There is a limit of six people and two vehicles per campsite. Some sites are adjacent to others, allowing groups to park together. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table. Firewood can also be purchased at the campground. Please use existing fire rings and picnic tables. Sanitary dump station, free if camping at Harding, $5 fee if dumping without camping.

Additional camping space is now also available for self-contained units week days at the Lakefront day use area and additional camping for up to 10 camp units is available in the Camp Lot camping area, which is located close to the lake.

The campground has 83 campsites and is open from May through September.
