Fishing and hiking draw most visitors to Reeds Gap State Park Campground, where Honey Creek runs along the outside of the campground and holds both native and stocked trout. A trail near the park entrance follows the creek, giving hikers a low-key route through the wooded terrain. The campground sits within Reeds Gap State Park, a small state park in Milroy, Pennsylvania, open from the second Friday in April through the second Sunday in October.
The campground has just 14 sites, all tent-only, and cell service is essentially nonexistent here. Sites vary in their positioning: some are tucked back among the trees while others sit closer to the road, though traffic through the area stays light. Reviewers consistently mention the quietness and cleanliness of the grounds, and the park provides recycling for campers. Bathrooms with hot showers are located nearby, each with a single stall and a large dressing area. Paula L. singles out "a super clean, eco-shower" as a highlight, noting timed water and what may be solar-powered lighting.
Reservations are available, though walk-in campers can pay via an honor system at the park office. The access road has a reputation for being rough, so drivers should plan accordingly. Water is available near the picnic pavilion, and the park includes multiple pavilions and picnic tables throughout. Pets are welcome. Campers who want a larger facility with full hookups might consider Poe Valley State Park Campground to the north as an alternative.
