Music echoes across the campground loops well into the night, creating a party atmosphere that some campers embrace and others flee. Lake Perris State Recreation Area Campground sits within a sprawling state park system where RV sites resemble parking stalls more than traditional camping spaces. The paved sites pack trailers close together, with some larger rigs extending beyond their designated spots.
Weekend crowds transform this campground into what one reviewer calls "city camping." M&M B. found "adults and children running around" with "music and talking until 2am" on Friday nights. Ranger presence appears minimal, leaving noise enforcement largely unaddressed. Midweek visits offer a markedly different experience, with significantly fewer neighbors and more manageable sound levels.
The lake provides the main draw, accessible by a short drive or longer walk from the camping areas. Swimming areas, boat launches, and a marina store with food trucks give families multiple recreation options. Sites with mature trees offer crucial shade during summer months when temperatures climb into the 90s. Evan V. recommends to "find a site with good trees" and notes the consistent breeze helps moderate heat.
Restroom facilities receive consistent praise for cleanliness and hot water availability without coin operation requirements. Full hookups include electric, water, and sewer connections, though some sites may have sewer access issues. RV length limits reach 31 feet maximum. Cell service works adequately for remote work needs across major carriers. The campground accommodates pets and allows campfires at individual sites.
Campers seeking a social, high-energy environment often enjoy the community atmosphere, while those preferring quieter experiences should consider weekday stays or explore other camping near Lake Perris State Recreation Area.

California State Parks wants to thank our park visitors for helping us keep our parks and environment clean. In 2018, State Parks installed new RV dump station collection systems at ten state park units as part of a pilot program to help us protect the environment and are added amenities for our visitors.
Following the success of the initial pilot program in 2018, an additional eleven park units have been added to the program. The service is available for campers, day-use or transient visitors for $10-$20 per use, depending on the location. Please note that visitors with current reservations arriving on or after April 13, 2021, who are interested in using the RV dump stations may be required to pay the use fee. The price per campsite for these state parks does not include the use of a dump station. View the following link: Camping Information
