A large drive-through parking area defines Fitzgerald Wilderness, a dispersed trailhead camp managed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department outside Dubois. Horse paddocks, vault toilets, picnic tables, and bear boxes are on-site. Most visitors park here to stage backcountry trips into more remote terrain, though overnight camping at the trailhead is permitted. RVs up to 45 feet can be accommodated. Bring bear canisters or use the provided boxes, as wildlife activity is noted in the area.
