The Best Camping Near Encampment, Wyoming

This is less of a campground and more of a parking lot. We pulled behind the bathroom and camped out on the grass around the existing fire pit. Camping is allowed. There are beautiful views backed up to a cow farm. We heard cows all night and morning, which I rather enjoyed. There were other people camping and putting their boat in the river as a start to a down river trip.

If you’re floating the North Platte River, this is a good place to stay.

Clearly marked directing you to the location. Bumpy dirt road until you reach the lot. It’s a parking lot camping location. Clearly marked camping area designated (5 days max). Clean, quiet, will stay again. 

Peaceful and quiet

A dirt road about 1.25 miles leading to a boat ramp, with parking for cars/ trailers. There is a bridge with a 12ton limit per vehicle. more allowed if you are towing.

This is not really a campsite, just a nice free place to spend the night and then move on, but you can stay up to 5 days.
had dirty bathrooms, no toilet paper.
