Description
Wenatchee National Forest climbs steeply above the Peshastin valley here, and FSR 7401 threads through a dense tree canopy — brilliant with fall color in autumn — as it winds toward the ridgeline near Sauer's Mountain. Multiple dispersed pullouts appear early along the road before the terrain gets serious; the upper sections involve steep, rutted pitches that will challenge lower-clearance vehicles and effectively require 4WD for anyone towing. The lower spots are the more accessible choice for most rigs, while the upper reaches reward the determined with broader views and deeper forest solitude.
