NF 42 Dispersed — Gifford Pinchot NF

The pines of Gifford Pinchot National Forest frame a dispersed clearing along a river corridor off Forest Road 42, a few miles past Sunset Falls Campground. The site opens onto a pine-shaded flat with room for multiple tents and a fire ring. A short scramble from camp reaches a swimming hole in the river below, and the stretch is well suited to fishing. The access road is manageable for rigs up to roughly 29 feet but is a tight haul — smaller vehicles will have an easier time of it.
