Wenatchee National Forest manages this free dispersed area along Williams Creek, just outside the old mining town of Liberty. Sites are primitive, with stone fire rings as the only infrastructure. The road in requires a capable vehicle since some spots are rough enough to rule out low-clearance cars. Spots along the creek fill up on busy weekends, so arriving without a backup plan is a gamble. Mosquitoes can be heavy, especially in summer. The adjacent BLM land draws ATV and dirt bike traffic, so expect motor noise at times. Anglers have tried fly fishing the creek with mixed results. Liberty Recreation Area sits just to the west for campers who want a more developed alternative.
