Stone fire rings mark the roughly five dispersed sites scattered along South Shore Road, a gravel route where land jurisdiction shifts between private property, Olympic National Forest, and Olympic National Park. The site closest to the Quinault River draws the most competition, while sites farther along the road tend to see less foot traffic. Road conditions are a real consideration here: recent reports note significant potholes, and one section has been closed due to flood damage that remains unrepaired. Campers can find showers and laundry in the town of Quinault. Campbell Tree Grove Campground offers a developed alternative for those who want established facilities nearby.
