All campsites and yurts are available for reservation on a four-month rolling basis. For example, on January 10 individual sites are available for reservation through May 10. You can book a maximum of 13 days beyond the last date of the reservation window. For more information please contact our Reservation Call Center at 800-322-3770 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) Monday through Friday. The call center is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

All Reservations that extend beyond The Furthest Arrival Date Must Wait 21 Days Before Changes Can Be Made

Dixie Campground remains open for walk-in reservations during the winter season. Please note, water is turned off in the winter. Vault restrooms are located near the campground & full facility restrooms remain open year-round near the General Store.

Description

Nestled a midst the majestic Wasatch Mountains of northeastern Utah, East Canyon State Park beckons nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. This hidden gem is not only a haven for boating, fishing, and camping but also an intriguing repository of Western American history. Explore the adjacent Mormon Pioneer Trail, a historic route trodden by a myriad of intrepid pioneers, including the Donner/Reed party, Mormon Pioneers, Pony Express riders, and travelers journeying from California to Oregon.

  • One vehicle entrance is included with each reservation. Any additional vehicle is subject to entrance or overnight fees. An additional vehicle fee will be collected at the park upon arrival. This applies to all campsites, day use sites, and group day use sites except double sites, yurts, cabins, and wagons which get two vehicles included.
  • East Canyon State Park operates a seasonal general store with basic supplies, park memorabilia and watercraft rentals. Please call 801-829-6866 for more information.

GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude) 40.90111, -111.58722 40°54'4"N, 111°35'14"W From Salt Lake City: (THANKSGIVING -MOTHERS DAY THIS ROAD IS CLOSED.. USE THE OGDEN DIRECTIONS) Take Interstate 80 east for six miles, take the Emigration/East Canyon Exit, then 21 miles northeast on State Road 65, then a mile west on State Road 66 (north end of reservoir). Big Rock campground is located at mile marker 15 on State Road 65. From Ogden: Go 17 miles east on Interstate 84 to the Morgan Exit 103, then south on State Road 66, 14 miles southeast on State Road 66 (one mile past the dam) to the entrance.
