Reaching Spokane Bay Campground requires either a 1-mile hike from the trailhead at N46 38.914 W111 47.825 or arriving by boat. Free and managed by the Bureau of Land Management, the site has nine fire rings with picnic tables, four boat docks, and a vault toilet. Anglers report catching rainbow trout from the dock, and fishing boats regularly work the bay in the morning. Close the gate on your way in, and pack out any trash left in the fire pits. Campers planning a broader trip can find campgrounds near Helena or check out Devil's Elbow Recreation Area roughly 2.8 miles north.
