Table Rock Lake

Overview

Mill Creek is a spacious and sunny campground on the White River Arm of Table Rock Lake in the Missouri countryside. Many campsites within this park are located adjacent to the waters edge, with the remaining campsites only a short walk from the water with some of the best views on the lake.

Recreation

Whether on water or land, Mill Creek Campground offers visitors countless recreational activities. Picnicking, swimming, scuba diving, boating, fishing, hunting, hiking and wildlife viewing are all popular pastimes at the park. While the lake boasts an abundance of crappie, catfish, and bluegill, Table Rock is most famous for bass, and is acclaimed as one of the best bass fishing lakes in this hemisphere. Table Rock Lakeshore Trail, about 2 miles long, runs from the Dewey Short Visitor Center to the Table Rock State Park Marina. During the spring hikers will see dogwood, serviceberry and redbud trees in bloom as well as many wildflower species. During the autumn months, visitors are treated to nature's colorful fall foliage. The trail also offers beautiful views of Table Rock Lake. Other hiking and mountain biking opportunities are available at the Mark Twain National Forest, parts of which are easily accessible from the campground. Click here for more information. A boat ramp, swimming beach, basketball court and volleyball court are provided. The campground is surrounded by water on three sides, providing visitors with convenient access to the lake.

Facilities

Mill Creek Campground offers 67 reservable campsites, along with one large reservable group picnic shelter. Amenities like hot showers, drinking water, a dump station and electric hookups create a comfortable camping experience. A beach, boat ramp, playground, basketball and volleyball court make the campground perfect for family trips.

Natural Features

Table Rock Lake is a beautiful body of water surrounded by a forest of oak and hickory trees. Its waters wind down through the valleys and hollows of the Ozark Mountains, from Branson, Missouri to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. More than five million visitors per year take advantage of this recreational oasis. Originally built for flood control, the Table Rock Dam has created a lake that boasts 779 miles of shoreline for the public to enjoy.

Nearby Attractions

The Dewey Short Visitors Center is located at the south end of Table Rock Dam. It offers three educational films focused on the history of the dam, the story of Lewis and Clark and the history of eagles and their endangerment in the state of Missouri. The visitor center also contains exhibits about the natural history of the area. Those visitors arriving by boat can take advantage of the courtesy dock. Mill Creek Campground is about 18 miles from Branson, Missouri, which offers grocery stores, gas and additional tourist attractions.

Beautiful park. Fantastic scenery with large spaces. Would give it 5 stars if it had full hookups. Wildlife is everywhere. Eagles, hawks, fishing and more.

So many beautiful on the water sites

Wow, what a campground, with swimming beach and volleyball setup.  Campsites extend out on a peninsula while others are a hop, skip and a jump from the launch ramp.  So many of the campsites are right on the water.

We visited campsite #60.  The way the roads were laid out, it made it super easy for us to back into this particular campsite which had electrical and water.  Others were pull through, however site 61 was a struggle for our neighbor with a long 5th wheel. Overall all it was a gorgeous location.  And we were fortunate with fantastic weather as this was in April.  It is my opinion this campground is so popular that you will find it stays booked up.  Reservations are definitely recommended.  We had a very quiet and enjoyable stay even with all sites in use.  It can be a bit of a hike to the rest room depending on your location.  Several clean shower stalls, and toilet areas, all very clean.  It is a short drive into Kimberling City for supplies with several hardware stores.  During our visit, there was a fishing tournament.

My favorite Corp Site I have stayed at

The view here says it all. The lakefront sites are the way to go if you are wanting uninterrupted sunrises and sunsets!! These sites are elevated and even and allow you to get out and enjoy without having a lot of work to set up and make sure you are going to be in a good place. Everything is pretty much already where it should be.

Some of these sites do have stairs and that could be a problem in some cases, and I definitely advise to be careful on these when it is wet outside as they can become very slick quickly(trust me on this one…lol).

I have stayed at a lot of sites from the Corp and this is by far one of my favorites. I was pretty impressed overall by the site and wasn’t expecting this caliber after some of the others I had stayed at previously. The grounds were kept immaculately and the restrooms stayed so clean.

I stayed in site 33, a random placement when I arrived because there were no others around me. It was great. I could walk easily to the facilities or to the beach without being right there in the middle of the day use area. That was perfect placement in my opinion.

Speaking of that day use area they have volleyball and a basketball court along with several picnic areas. Though this is an overnight or day use site, on many days there is little traffic by those coming just for recreation, at least when I visited slightly after summer.

I will be staying here again in the future whenever I want to stay a bit off the beaten path but still near Table Rock. I liked that there were supplies nearby in Kimberling City so I didn’t have to worry about to much and you can get a site through the attendant for multiple nights easily instead of worrying about everything always being reserved.

A resort of a COE park!

Mill Creek is like a resort! There’s sand volleyball, a basketball court, a beach with a designated swim area and, thoughtfully, life jackets were available to borrow.

Most of the sites are lakeside. I snagged Site 12 which was perfect for me! However, there are several stairs down from the paved pad to the picnic area, so be aware if you have little ones or mobility issues. As others have mentioned the sites have picnic benches a fire ring and a lantern pole. Hooks up were easy and close. I especially liked the water hook up because it had the traditional valve handle and not the pump handle. It’s the little things.

The bathrooms were spotless and looked newly remodeled. One of them was also accessible. The drive to the campground might be tricky for larger rigs as there is a sharp curve and steep grade coming into the park.

This park was quiet, clean and offered a night sky that provided a shooting star!! I would love to come back here again!

Lakefront Paradise

This is one of the best state parks I’ve been to. Amazingly clean and well maintained. Bathrooms were spotless with awesome water pressure and NO smell. No hand soap in bathroom so bring it with or some wet wipes. Swimming area, beach, volleyball, park, boat ramp. Every site is paved and beautiful. Every site has an amazing view of Table Rock Lake and MOST sites are literally on the water. We walked (10 steps) down to the water every day and swam right behind our site. All sites have water and electric but no full hookups. If you have a small boat, jet skies, or kayaks, you can pull them right up to the shore of your site. Mixture of back in and pull through sites and some are double sites for really big rigs or if you’re camping with friends. We stayed on site 16 and it was perfect but there are so many great sites that it’s hard to find a bad one. We stayed for 5 nights at $21 per night. The sites book up fast so reserve well ahead of time. 10 minutes to grocery store and gas. 20 minutes to Walmart. No camp store so if you need ice or firewood, get it in town. Tons to do within a 30 minute drive if you don’t want to spend every day on the water. Only negative is the missing hand soap, they need more garbage cans around the campground and we had some flies so had to break out the pinesol!! P.S. every time the staff member came by on his golf cart, he stopped to give our dogs treats...score!!

Best campground in Missouri !

If you’re looking for a campground with waterfront campsites and stunning views, look no further! Most of the campsites are either right on the waterfront or within a few feet walking distance. Everything is clean and well-kept and all of the sites are paved. It even has its own beach and did I mention the views?

Could be better

It's a nice camp ground but the RV spaces are some what cramped. The worst part is that EVERY weekend there is at least one fishing tournament. This means boats with outboard motor leaving the launch area full blast at 7 in the morning, coming back at noon. Going out at 1 then back in at 4 or so. There can also be night tournaments. Not the best place too kick back and relax in my opinion.

Wonderful with a chance of Flooding

I have been going here since I was a kid and the only thing that has disappointed me is when it closes down when the lake floods. Other than that it has great amenities with a great central location on the lake.

One of the best campgrounds on Table Rock Lake

There are no bad sites in this campground, even the ones that aren't close to the water. There are attendants at the gate of this Corps of Engineers campground (which is becoming less common) who are always happy to help. The individual restroom-shower are always clean. We camp in our motorhome and have found most of the sites we stay on to be fairly level.
