Very Nice Place
We stayed here just after the fourth to visit Holiday World, which was only 5 miles down the road. Much cheaper than the cottages and other campgrounds closer to HW. The entire campground was very nice. All sites have water. Ensure you have a 25+ ft water hose for some sites. The restrooms were very clean and other campers extremely nice. The beach is just a short walk from all sites. The campground has a few playgrounds for the kids too. My wife is already planning our next stay here.
Nice spot, sites ok if a little close
My husband and I stayed here in early May. There were plenty of available sites. It was quiet and family oriented. The host wasn't the friendliest but the bathroom was clean and the campground pubertal is very well kept
Nice weekend getaway, close to Holiday World!
We enjoyed our stay here. Very pet friendly. Nice, clean bath houses for a state park. Our spot was super sloped; our tongue was almost on the ground and we still weren’t completely level, thankfully we didn’t notice it while we were in the camper. Not much shade in several spots either so definitely plan to bring a canopy tent or something for shade outside of just your awning. But overall a nice little place to park it for the weekend. Can’t wait for Holiday World to open for the summer so we can book another stay here and make a 10 minute drive instead of a 1 hour drive with 2 toddlers.
Very nice State Park
Very nice state park campground with electric, (50 on some, 30 on some), and water hookups. Two clean shower houses. Two dump stations. Lake for swimming, fishing, canoe, paddle boat and Jon boat rentals. Hiking trails and fire tower. Typical camp store on site. Gas station with propane about a mile from the camp ground. Has primitive sites and cabin rentals also. The park has a large outdoor covered amphitheater with several concerts throughout the season. Most sites are pretty level. There are a few that are not. The majority of the sites have at least partial shade. Weekends are usually booked up in advance. Through the week is no problem getting your choice of sites. Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial is adjacent to the State park. It has a living farm. Both are free. Admission to the state park is $7.00 per vehicle or a Indiana State Park annual pass for $50.00 gets you into any Indiana state park anytime for the year. You can book through reserveamerica.com or calling the park directly.
Perfect for young children
This park is small with clean campsites. Water hookup at every camp site. Playground, beach, hiking and boat rental are within a minute walk of your campsite.
Beauty close to home
I love the lake in the evening. The water is perfectly still. It is so unbelievably peaceful and the sunsets are amazing. We do like camping here.
Visit history
Lincoln State Park is a great place to take the kids, and the kid in yourself. They have a homestead from Abe Lincoln's childhood. You can see how he lived. They also are close to one of the best amusement parks in the country, Holiday World and Splashing Safari. So go here and enjoy a fantastic weekend.
Nice place
The campground is very nice and well kept. The campsites arent very secluded though if that is something you are looking for. There is a nice hike to an old fire tower that is pretty neat.
Family friendly near theme park
Lincoln State Park is usually packed. It’s less than 10 miles away from Holiday World. I think a lot of theme park visitors camp here. I’ve stayed in both electric and primitive. Bathhouses are kept clean and staff is friendly. Book online using Reserve America to make sure site is available.
This place is gorgeous!
This campground is just beautiful. We stayed here during one of the Halloween Camping Weekends and my kids loved it. Lots of friendly people and the whole campground got into the trick or treating. The lake is so gorgeous and I cannot wait to stay here in the summer to be able to enjoy the beach. Paddle boats and canoes were available for rent. We will be back!
Nice, clean campground with great amenities
Really park, its even open in the winter. We stayed here in Nov. on the coldest night of the month. Had a blast, stayed warm, cooked food over the fire.
nice park
This is a nice park, very well kept. it’s a great place to stay if you want to visit Holiday World!
My Kids Love Lincoln State Park
My kids love Lincoln especially around Halloween when they do their trick or treating. Great bathrooms, great sites, lots of walking trails, close to Holiday World, so much to do with kids.
Great campground and park
Some sites are on the small side so choose carefully. During the summer, it's a busy place. This is definitely a family park. Boat house will rent jon boats, paddle boats, canoes and have life jackets. There's a beach for swimming with restrooms, showers, snack bar and campstore. The campground has 2 large and clean bathouses. It's open year round but if you visit during winter months, check to make sure you have water at your site. Its turned off during winter, So be sure to fill your tanks at one of the only 2 water spigots if you visit during the winter months. In summer, each site has electric and water hook up. Very nice park for hiking and biking too.
Family favorite since I was a kid!
Great campgound with nice wide spots. Close to Hoilday World. Awesome trails. Stop in at Jenk’s Pizza in Dale for dinner. This park has the Lincoln boyhood memorial that is a must see.
Perfect !
A very clean park, hiked a few trails, went to the nature center and loved the fact that a they have a small store right there in the park for those small items you leave sitting on the counter at home !
Uniquely interesting
Lincoln State Park is right down the road from Santa Claus , Indiana and Holiday World. Needless to say it was a little busy, but not as bad as the Rudolph RV Park in town.
The RV/camping area was well laid out and the sites were nestled in quite close to one another. That being said it was a smaller campground and surrounded by trees and lake on two sides, roadway on the other.
Probably the main thing I didn't like about it. The day use area was a fence row away. Which while convienant to walk to, sorta cut down on the whole camping in the woods privacy thing.
Direct access to the trail system/lake boardwalk and the cabin area was co-located on the same trail. The trail was sort of well marked, though there were a few trails leading off with no markers.
The beach, boat rental and general use area was well maintained and had some cool old buildings in use. There is an amphitheater that has a good venue of events.
The general use pit toilet was fragrant, old and in need of a good cleaning. There were newer facilities but seeing as it was right in the middle of the area you would think a little sprucing up would be in order.
Very nice lake! CLEAR water, a lot of water activities going on.
Directly across from the park is another park area with historical stuff if you like that kind of stuff.

It was beautiful!
We had a lot of fun; it was so beautiful. The price was fair.
