Overview
The Round Mountain / Johnson City KOA Journey is a gated, privately owned KOA franchise campground situated on 25 acres in the Texas Hill Country, located just off Highway 281 between Johnson City and Marble Falls. Opened in late 2025, it operates year-round and caters primarily to traveling RVers seeking a convenient Hill Country basecamp.
Facilities
The campground offers more than 60 oversized RV sites with full hookups (50/30-amp electric, water, and sewer), plus tent sites with water and electric service on grass pads. Both pull-through and back-in RV sites are available, all with picnic tables and Wi-Fi. The main building houses the camp office, general store, laundry room, bathhouse with showers, night registration, and a propane filling station. An on-site dog park accommodates pets.
