Accessible via Forest Service roads, Paint Creek Corridor provides dispersed camping opportunities along a river corridor in Cherokee National Forest. The US Forest Service manages this drive-in area where campfires are permitted and campers can access fishing, hiking, biking, equestrian trails, and swimming in the river.
One recent visitor noted finding only a single available dispersed site despite Forest Service information indicating multiple camping areas throughout the corridor. Several roadside spots that may have previously allowed camping now display no camping signs. The area shows signs of littering issues that detract from the experience. Campers should plan for limited site availability and consider backup options when making the drive to this location.
