Website said trail for primitive was good for beginners. It isn’t. That was a pretty difficult trail. Also for primitive don’t plan on bringing anything other than a backpack cause you will need your arms for support during certain climbs. They need photos of actual trail w/ site photos.
We stayed here for one night on our way South. Sites are very neat and clean. Nice lake with swimming area on property. We had a good stay.
If you are looking for an out-of-the-main-drag area to go camping, try this place. We have been camping there for years. The District Scouting units use this area for camping. There is two portions to the area. The south portion has a covered pavilion.
There is no water, so bring plenty. There is…
20 minutes from town. Cell phone service. Regular bathrooms with running water. There are water fountains and water pumps. Fire pits and tables at each site.
Watch out for poision ivy and posion oak!
Plenty to do. Trails to walk and some waterfalls. As much as it rained here we were…

First time I was there was April and it was great I came back 4 months later n its was trashy homeless people running around people leaving trash behind and the head ranger dont do nothing about and people coming in late night making way too much noise I would not go back there again after seeing…
Boondocked here for the night.. got way more than expected! It was extremely clean. Flat, paved campsites with firepits, picnic tables, and trash cans. No water or bathrooms but a great little stop over for our trip west.
Great place for camping on the river!! Clean and friendly. Kayak and canoe rentals on site.
Pros: They offer disability/handicap and senior discounts which is nice, not a lot of places offer that. Decent price. Receptionist was friendly. Had a lot of hiking trails around, cool park area. Everything else was mediocre or disappointing.
Cons: The power went out in the entire park in the…
My favorite thing about this campground was it’s proximity to Narrows of the Harper, which I wanted to hike. Tent site, a little close in the campground, but not so bad it affected the experience negatively. Facilities well-maintained.

Had to call to book a reservations since we wanted to book same day. The woman on the phone was the sweetest person and was so helpful.
Campground is quiet and back off the main road. We did car camping, just FYI.
Will say make sure you download the map before you head in. There isn’t cell…
Site 1 was on it own little peninsula with cypress tree, flat ground, and nice views. The whole primitive/tent campground was nice, with all site being on or viewing the water. Clean and nice to walk around. The primitive section js also the boat ramp area and doesn’t have running water facilities
Mama D's RV Campground is okay place to stay. The campground is crowded and some of the lots have permanent houses. Each lot has access to water and electricity as well as a small campfire. The area is decently maintained. The biggest positive this place has is the convenience store at the…

Henry Horton boasts easy access, clean showers and sites. They offered many interesting programs for all ages. Staff and host friendly. Restaurant closed for updating.
We love the primitive sites at Nathan Bedford Forest! Each site is along the River banks, so you get the best views! Fire pits and picnic tables included. The bathhouse is very old though and does not have a shower. That is the only reason I couldn’t give this one 5 stars!
