Goforth Creek Campground A sits at the base of the Goforth Creek trail in Cherokee National Forest, the first and largest dispersed site along the route. Getting here requires scrambling over rocks and crossing flowing water, so the approach is more demanding than a standard walk-in. The site has direct creek access for swimming or water purification, and a large established fire pit. Road noise is noticeable at this lower site. Campers wanting more solitude should consider Goforth Creek Campground B or sites farther up the trail. The parking area is small and easy to miss, so watch carefully on arrival.
