Serene setting but close sites

We stayed at the Oaks at Point South for 2 weeks.  The sites were a bit close, also, when it rained the byproduct was mud.  However, the sites all had live oaks with spanish moss, there was a large pond(s) with great walking trails and lots of beautiful birds.

The staff was very accomodating.  They accepted packages shipped to you.  Most of the sites were pull thru.  Propane (at a really good price) was available at the KOA just 1 mile away.  T-Mobile cell coverage was great.

Nothing (groceries, etc.) was nearby.  The closest non-convenience store grocery was 12 miles away and the nearest Walmart was 23 miles away.

When running out slides you may need to juggle your rig a bit to clear the trees, as I said earlier, sites are close with big trees.

We would stay here again.

Everything you need, just not close to other things

Magnolia Springs State Park is a nice Georgia State Park. Located just north of Millen, GA, the park offers ample camping for both RVs and tents.

Spots are flat and easy to park campers and set up tents with enough room between each for a bit of privacy and a few walk-in tent sites for increased privacy. Cabin rentals are available as well as a group lodge. There is a bath house in the main campground that is well kept complete with flush toilets and showers, as well as a coin laundry machines.

Kayak, canoe, pedal boat and bike rentals are all available from the visitor center to explore the spring fed lake and mostly flat trails in the park.

This is a lovely park to camp and spend time in, but is a 2-3 hour drive to Atlanta or Savannah if you are interested in exploring GA. The town of Millen has fast food options, as well as ample opportunity to pick up essential goods.

Camp South RV great fund

Great new family owned campground about an hour east of Savannah right off 16. Pine tree forest, fishing pond, bath house, full hook ups, goats, horses, tranquility.

I enjoyed every min

Great place to relax, very clean and a lot to do in around the site.

Words cannot describe!!!

Worst campground I have ever stayed at in 30 plus years.. Small/narrow sites with half a picnic table.. was supposed to have 50 amp only thirty. No internet though advertised.. Tree branches and debris everywhere.. And expensive..

Good overnight stop

We stayed here overnight on our way to the beach. The Edisto River runs by the campground and people were fishing. Campground was small but had what we needed to spend the night with a small camp store on site. The only thing bad was it was in August and the evening temps were around 90. Don’t recommend camping in this part of the world in the hottest part of the summer. We motel‘ it on the way back.

Collenton

Fairly open & not too much privacy. Very nice river acces makes up for it, spent nearly all of time at the river or exploring. Trail leading off the campgrounds through the woods is very fun, saw a corn snake and found a geocache.

Pretty

Stayed here a lot beautiful setting on the edisto river

Very solid campground

Very well put together campground. Located on a wildlife park, I saw a few alligators in the lake. Fairly peaceful, besides the fact we were right next to the pool so it got loud at times. Very nice and clean amenities. About a 20 minute straight shot to Hilton Head Island.

Nice but tight parking

This resort looks absolutely beautiful. When we made our reservation they told us they did not reserve specific sites that we could pick our spot when we arrive. After looking at the map we noticed that all the slots were oriented to facilitate your departure. We arrived after the office was closed and picked up the list of available site. As we started driving into the resort the roads were wide enough for only one camper at a time. We started to go and look at the available sites and noticed not all sites are the same size. This started to concern me that we may not be able to to find a site for our 42ft camper. After navigating the resort we were able to find a site that we liked. These sites do take some practice getting into and some have trees close to the pads. While we were there we saw a guys hit a tree backing into his site. This trip was our third outing in our camper and after 15 minutes we were able to finagle our camper onto the pad. Overall the resort is really nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful and even offer onsite RV repair. The resort is nestled up against the harbor and is very peaceful. While standing on the dock we were able to watch dolphins swim and even saw some sting rays. The staff says that they often have manatees that come into the harbor for a visit. The resort is a 10-15 minute drive to Coligny Beach. If your in the mood for some dole whip, the Disney Resort is just a few minutes away. Recommend staying at the resort during your stay at Hilton Head Island.

Very clean

Nice and friendly staff

Beautiful

A great quick stop. It served us was a quick respite from the road. Friendly staff and pretty, quiet environment let us relax and soak up a beautiful day by the springs.

Small quiet campground

Not much to do here. Close to the interstate and right on the Edisto River. There are about 25 sites and some are very small and very unlevel. One bath house at the entrance to the campground

Ranger Review: Camp Lake Jasper

We had a great stay! Very easy in/out and beautiful grounds. Shower house was clean and the pool was nice. WiFi worked well. We enjoyed the hiking trails. Cell coverage was good for work (att & Verizon). We stayed in a lakeside site, which was spacious and pretty. They all had a nice concrete pad, big enough to make a patio from right outside your door. Lots of alligator warning signs were everywhere. We did not see any, but it did make noises in the night 100% scarier. Great location right off 95 and a quick drive to Hilton Head and Savannah. We’d definitely stay here again.

Ranger Review: Eagle’s RV Campground

We called to reserve a week long stay and were told they had sites available, which turned out was only one. The campground is definitely a “no frills” park and mostly used by long term/permanent residents. The host/owner had us pull right next to his own rig, it was a tight fit and we had zero privacy. He then proceeded to sit on his RV stairs and smoke and stare at us both when we were outside and when we were in our rig. We could smell the smoke which isn’t ok with us. We didn’t even bother to put the slides out. When we set up the electricity we had fire ants attack us. We decided quickly that we’d only stay the night and we’d leave first thing in the morning. Across the street is a nice state park and campground (Colleton State Park) but they unfortunately didn’t have any sites open big enough for our 30 ft class A. I’d recommend staying there over this campground if you want to be in this exact area. We luckily found another campground closer to Charleston to stay at.

Lots of shade

Full hookups and pull through with lots of trees. Not particularly quiet and no shower or laundry facilities. The women in the front have all the info you need to explore the local area and you can buy buses passes there to have a guided tour of Charleston. The passes are cheaper and they will pick you up which is better than driving to Charleston and looking for parking

Right off 95

Wow! Amazing CG. Full hookups. All pull through. Easy Easy in and out. Quiet even tho close to I95.
We will be back when we head up from FL. Price very reasonable. Walk to Cracker Barrel.

This place is great!

Very well taken care of, very nice caretakers, very close to HHI, Bluffton, Beaufort, Savannah. Super nice campground with lots of fun stuff for the kids to do. There is a small lake and kayaks, a common house for hanging out by the lake and dock area with a huge fire pit.

clean comfortable fun close to Savannah, HHI, and Beaufort

This is a great family campground, they have very well appointed RV sites, Tent sites and cabins that look like train Cabooses, and some others. but it is super nice and well taken care of. its close to 95 but you really don't notice that. people like this place because there were a lot of return visitors from way out of state. We had neighbors that snowbird in FL but they live in Manitoba, Canada and drive all the way over just to stay there on their way to FL.

Do not feed the alligators!

This is the site of a lesser known confederate civil war prison. There was some archeological work going on when we were there. The spring is very pretty, with turtles and fish swimming under the bridges of the walkway, and there were lots of alligators along the stream. We let our dogs swim in the lake before we realized the gators were probably there as well. There is an aquarium for Georgia fish at the park. The campground is in tall pine trees with shade, but not much privacy. Most are level. Water and electric sites and a dump station.

Quiet And Clean

Not much to do but the campground is quiet and clean, a good passing through place.

The BEST campground hands down

This campground has a nice playground for the kids along with a super duper water slide. The sites are roomy, the bath houses are super clean. It’s convenient to all shops, grocery stores, parks, restaurants, etc. This is where my grandkids want to go every year.

Fantastic Campground

We stayed there when my son graduated from Parris Island. We were only there for 3 nights but everyone was so friendly and we loved the site. It was such a busy time for all of the graduation ceremonies that we didn't get to spend much down time in the campground itself, but I would definitely want to visit again. We loved the area around the campground as well. Can't recommend this place enough!

Great location, awesome staff

The Hilton Head RV Resort is a great place for RVs. The staff here is super friendly and helpful. The whole campground is well maintained and clean. There are 30 & 50 amp hookups at all sites as well as city water. The only downside to this place is, all of the sites are back in. There are a few sites that are long enough to pull into, but none are pull through.

So picturesque...it's like camping on someone's farm

This is our "go to" campground near Savannah. We sleep here while we explore Savannah and surrounding areas, but it's also a beautiful campground if you want to spend some time here. If you camp in an area other than the large field out front, it's like camping on someone's horse farm. Just recently, we camped in the dry camping area for tents and small units because that's all that was available. It's out in front of the office and just across from the paddock. We've also camped to the left and right of the office where you can hook up to electricity and water.

Sites

  • See map. Sites 13 through 17 are full hookup sites out front among sites 1-21 and look like the best ones to me. All of these sites are appropriate for large RVs (think Class A) with long gravel pads.
  • See B1-B3 on the map. These are good for trailers plus a vehicle, you won't have a lot of neighbors, and there's a bit of a water view with no one in front of you.
  • There are 2 sites in an area called C out by a pond.
  • Dry camping areas do not show up online. There's a loop out in front of the office for tents and small units (like our teardrop). Larger units can camp over by the volleyball court.
  • Sites to the left and right of the office are good for trailers, but I don't think they're online either.
  • Call if you don't see availability online. I've never seen a tent here, but that area in front of the office is good for a tent. We've camped twice in our teardrop in this area, and there was just one truck camper the first time.

Why camp here?

  • Beautiful setting
  • It's about 10 minutes to downtown Savannah.
  • Maybe you have an event to attend at Red Gate Farms. The Mackey House (see photos) is one of Savannah's best wedding sites. We attended a wedding in the spring at this beautiful venue, and it was great staying less than a mile away. (Yes, getting all dressed up at a campground was a bit weird, but the private bathrooms worked for us.) There are two other event venues closer to the campground.
  • If you want to venture beyond Savannah, Fort Pulaski is about 30 minutes away and Tybee Island is another 10 minutes. Skidaway Island State Park is on the way to the fort, and there's a campground on Tybee Island. We prefer to camp closer to the restaurants and craft breweries in Savannah.

Amenities

  • Wifi
  • Pool
  • Washers, dryers, small exercise room and two private bathrooms in the office building which is always open. There's also a TV and kitchen sink.
  • You can catch a trolley to downtown Savannah.
  • Trail rides are available.
Aweome RV Resort

Wonderful RV Resort right on the water. It has a 5 star resturant it is located beside the Harbor master. You get to watch the boats come in and out. They have 2 pools. They also have jet ski rentals.

Cute and clean campground right on the Edisto River!

Park Ranger Larry is everything you would want in a ranger! He is proud of this park and it shows - everything is clean around the campground and in the bath house. Site 11 was riverside and had a great view! If we could pick any site, we would probably pick Site 9 as it had a slightly better view. There isn't much to do in the area, but the campground is only about an hour from Charleston, SC. However, we chose to camp here for the kayak trip! We had a great day (despite the super high level of the river) kayaking 23 miles down to Givhan's Ferry. An added bonus was the great cell service!

Small, clean, comfortable

Pet friendly with an enclosed dog area, beautiful area, clean, friendly and attentive staff.

Great stop for a night

We stopped for one night, very convenient location right off the highway. Our kids loved the gem mining and playground. The staff are friendly and accommodating and the bathrooms were very clean.

I wish the RV sites had more privacy. There was none. It reminded me of an RV park, not a campground.
