Too high expectations

TN needs to pick up there RV park game. Good sites are rare (space and views) #research. Campgrounds A, B and C are tight, limited space. Campground D is tent only - preferred for a camping experience. TN must like creating partying and group camping - that’s the only reason one should camp in A B or C. Lake is beautiful, shoreline around campsites is cluttered and needs maintenance. Pool is closed (Covid?) - it looks abandoned b/c of financial issues. We booked our site a year in advance - highly recommend. A 15 is a good site. (Book it).

Family Friendly

Beautiful park with lots of activities for kids. The hiking trails were well maintained but vary in difficulty (easy to moderate; side trails to overlooks steep and rocky). Over 200 rv sites, most are close to each other; plan ahead to get a good site. We reserved a year in advanced and at that time no full hook ups were available. The park is a top visited park in TN - it’s crowded.

Quiet

We stayed M-F; the park was 70% ish occupied; lots of great hikes, although most of the water falls were dry 🤷🏼‍♂️. #seasonal. Paddled above DeSoto Falls on the Little River. Mostly cooked out, but a lunch visit to the Wildflower in Mentone is worth it.

Trout

Site on the River - peaceful, but you do hear the traffic.

Amazing

A very cool Georgia State park. A variety of accommodations and activities.

Wonderful Place to Chill

RV sites are small but doable. Check with office for advice when reserving. Winding road to the park, so it might be worth a day trip to scout the curving road and rv sites. Bathhouses are clean. It has great tent sites for solo camping or camping with others. Plan to hike the Tennessee Rock Trail.

Quiet Shade!

Word on this place was it was a gang hang out. Not anymore. Security Gate(s)! Police presence. This campground is wonderfully maintained; lots of options for camping. Booked it awhile back for the Bon Temps kayak race on Lake Wylie.

Spacious Campground on Lake Lanier

A great place to camp with lots of hiking trails; there’s even a canoe trail! Campground is well maintained and bath houses are clean.

Thanksgiving Getaway

Decent campground, especially if you like to fish. Booked our water site months in advanced. Boat ramp near campground entrance. We kayaked the inlet to St Vincent Island. Get lunch at Indian Pass Raw Bar.

Bears

Quiet park except on weekends - lots of day use patrons (excellent beach area). Site had an incline but it was good rv backing experience :). Bears were there but didnt see any. Lots of good hiking trails: history, panoramic views and a nice lake trail.

An Annual Destination

We've been coming to Dreher for several years to competein the Paddle Bender kayak race. The park has a great hiking trail, and lots of rv and tent sites. I recommend a drive thru of the sites for future camps.

WEEKEND RV SHAKEDOWN

A convenient campground to prepare the rv for camping season. Sites were tight but had great views.

Georgia State Parks Rock

We enjoyed the well-kept campground and explored the civil war fort which inspired discussions of Georgia’s history. Too hot to have an enjoyable hike, though. The park is located close to necessary needs - hardware and grocery stores. Check out Fish Tales on the Ogeechee River just outside the park.
