Steens Mountain Loop Road Dispersed near Frenchglen

Description

The hilltop bench above the high-desert basin south of Frenchglen offers a BLM dispersed area along an unsigned dirt spur off the Steens Mountain Loop Road corridor — well above the wetland bottomlands and the bugs that go with them. Several spots with fire rings are scattered across the area, with wide open views down into the surrounding sage flats. The access track is short but rough and prone to mud in wet conditions, best suited to high-clearance vehicles without large trailers.
