Lake access and forest trails make Miners Retreat a base for water activities and hiking within Umatilla National Forest. This US Forest Service campground sits in forested terrain near a lake, though campers should prepare for rough access roads leading to the site.

The campground provides drinking water and toilets, with pets welcome throughout the area. At $65 per night, it serves drive-in campers willing to navigate challenging road conditions.
