Description
Forest Service Road 4610 branches off near the Elk Meadows Trailhead in Mt. Hood National Forest, accessing a cluster of roughly five dispersed pullouts at about 4,500 feet in dense Pacific Northwest forest — heavy tree cover, huckleberry thickets, and birdsong are the defining atmosphere. The access road is tight and there is no dedicated turnaround, so the spot is best suited to smaller vehicles; a vault toilet at the adjacent trailhead serves the area but sees heavy use. The Elk Meadows Trail and Sahale Falls Trail are steps away, with views of Mt. Hood a short walk in.
