Trillium Airstrip

We had another wonderful relaxing time here at Trillium airstrip. Lots of room for any size rig. Remember when you turned into the airstrip, take a left in one of the access points. There are a few areas on the right side of the road. Though I would suggest parking in the airstrip and walking it first. That way you know your Strategy.

Sitewe found a nice wide spot on the right side of the road

Basic big area for dispersed camping

There are tons of spots here. Some are tucked back in the trees and are more "prime" spots, otherwise there's a huge middle area that tons of cars can squeeze into as long as you don't mind neighbors. The proximity to Trillium lake is of course lovely, but I'm only giving it 3-stars because of a few things... First, there is road noise from the highway. Second, most spots offer minimal privacy. Third, people really disrespect the area. We tried to camp in a spot and someone had literally left their human feces smack-dab in the middle of the campsite... In the site we ended up in, our dog found a bag of human feces buried only 1-inch below the surface of the dirt. She easily dug it up and made a disgusting mess. I never understand how people can disrespect nature like this. It's a good area as a "last resort" in my opinion.

Win for Memorial Day weekend!

Surprised we were able to snag a spot here on Memorial Day weekend! Drove in Sunday evening. Quite a few dispersed spots, kinda close to one another- everyone was respectful. The road behind this gets a great view of Mt. Hood!!

No amenities. Dry camping!

Has cell service

Nice little area. Went out the day after memorial weekend. Hoping the holiday campers would be gone. This area was still pretty full with campers when I showed up. For the most part everyone around me kept the noise down. One of the cleaner dispersed sites I’ve seen out here. Would imagine this place stays busy during the summer months. Decent amount of van lifers when I visited. Stayed 2 nights.

Free place to stay

For a free place to stay it sure beats a parking lot. Lots of trees, large spaces but lots of rain in May. But if coming thr again I would stay here. You can stay up to 14 days. In night two, I got a mouse. Ugh!

Good Spot

Accidentally stumbled upon this site after visiting Trillium Lake. There were lots of spots, but this is a very exposed campground. There was decent Verizon service here. There were a decent amount of sites. We were able to get a spot arriving around 9pm.

Trillium Lake Free Camping

Nice forest service camping area. There are plenty of spots, but it can get pretty crowded on weekends. There is a beautiful view of Mt. Hood down the road and a nice hiking path to Trillium Lake. Short drive to shopping and restaurants.

Easiest spot on the Mt.

It's a good spot. T.P. is visible, I wish people would bury it better! But the site is great and really accessible.
