Description
The ponderosa pine flats of Deschutes National Forest near Lava River Cave open into a wide clearing off Crawford Road, situated just east of US 97 in central Oregon's high-desert volcanic country. The area is spacious enough to accommodate large rigs, with a broad unobstructed sky well suited for satellite connectivity. Note that the dirt road leading deeper into the spot closes in winter, though the clearing at the road entrance remains available for overnight stops year-round.
