Bennett Pass Dispersed — Mt. Hood NF (NF 222)

Description

Deep in the Mt. Hood National Forest just southeast of Bennett Pass, this end-of-road dispersed spot sits at roughly 5,000 feet amid dense conifer forest with direct views of Mount Hood. The access track off NF 222 is narrow, moderately steep, and rutted in sections — high clearance is recommended, and the road's tight turns make it unsuitable for RVs or tow-behinds. Cell signal reaches the area, and abundant deadfall has historically made for easy campfire fuel, though the road has been blocked by multiple downed trees since at least mid-2023 and was still impassable as of September 2025; verify current conditions before making the trip.
