Baker Bay Campgrounds & Marina, near Dorena, Oregon, is a scenic spot that offers a laid-back atmosphere right on the shores of Dorena Lake. With 48 sites, it’s a great place for families and friends to gather, enjoy nature, and partake in some water activities.

For those looking to stretch their legs, there are trails nearby, although some have noted that the sites can feel a bit cramped, especially during peak times. The campground is family-friendly, with plenty of green space for kids to play and inflatable water structures in the bay for added fun. Whether you're here for a weekend escape or a longer stay, Baker Bay offers a mix of relaxation and adventure.

The park includes a 48 site campground, playground, 27 slip marina with accommodations for some dry moorage, designated swimming area, boat ramp, two large group day use facilities with electricity and water features.  Baker Bay has parking for 183 cars and 51 car/trailer. Campground features ADA restrooms and showers and a single vault restroom.  Day use area has flushing restrooms, open picnic areas, horse shoe pits, and a volleyball court.  A primitive trail on the east side of the campground runs 0.8 miles to the east property boundary.

no hookups in this little campground but you can’t beat the location. nestled on the shores of Dorena Lake east of Cottage Grove in the trees. little boat dock. stocked lake. rental kayaks and swimming hole. one of our favorite places.

Father’s Day weekend our small group of 4 plus a dog stayed in site 32. We chose this location for a few reasons.
- We could see the lake from our site.
- We could leave our kayaks on the shore and just hop right in and paddle if we wanted.
- Our dog loves to swim, so having a relatively private place for him to swim off leash was desired. 
- Easy access to the trail (this time the bridge was down, so we could not venture). 

We enjoyed our stay, for the most part. The site across from us was loud until the early hours of the morning, openly drinking and using drugs, and were just all around disrespectful. They were kicked out (thankfully) and the hosts were very helpful and quick to act in times of need. 

I will say, that I will never stay at site 32 again. Many visitors to this site felt that because we were right next to the trail head (that they did not know was inaccessible) they could just walk directly though our site. We have a dog who has PTSD, so having people walk through our camp just because they felt like it was extremely stressful.

The sun rose across the lake which was extremely beautiful. 

Love Baker Bay as a whole, the people who stay there are a whole other matter. 

Beautiful Mornings

The Baker Bay Campground and Marina is a county park outside of Cottage Grove, Oregon. It has a boat launch and boat rentals. There are several huge inflatable water structures in the bay which kids can play on for a fee. The concession stand is currently under construction however there is plenty of green space for picnics. There is a large play structure, horseshoes, and a sand volleyball pit.

  

Great site for families with kids.

  

Decent main restroom and showers however, the vault toilet near the main camping spots was the WORST I have ever been near. I can't imagine how people near the toilet could stand being there - especially in the heat of the summer.

Nice family centric campground on Dorena Lake

The view was wonderful. We got a lakeside camp site which made it a simple walk down to the lake where we could swim and fish. The camp ground had a pretty big bathroom and separate shower room. We wish we could have been a little further away from the other campers but overall we were happy with our experience. 

Beautiful and convenient 

Es un buen lugar para pasar un buen rato esta bien esta chico y mucha vigilancia los espacios están muy pegados es un poco difícil estacionar una Traila por los pinos muy pegados al camino, los baños son de litrina pero si hay baños de tazas y regaderas juntó al muelle.

Dry Camping  
Upside - Right on the lake and lots of spots with shade which would be good for summer heat.   
Downside - no alcohol permitted (loosely enforced it seems).  And the restrooms and dump station are being rebuilt as of May 2024 and it will likely take a year or more. There are porta-potties. You are allowed to dump at the facility up the road for no cost.

On the Lake

Great location and beautiful view. Great for families. Not the most quiet spot but the view makes up for it. Restrooms were under construction but they provided single vault toilets.
