The Best Camping Near Stidham, Oklahoma

We stayed August 6-9 2019. Turned out to be about one of the hottest weeks of the year. Our campsite was in Lakeview Circle site #91. It is a large pull through site with a gorgeous view of the lake. We almost had the run of the whole park which we attributed to the tremendous heat, so much flooding earlier in May and June and the new school year starting the following week. We will try this spot again in the fall because there was way too much sun for the better part of the day. They have a nice nature center and the playground in the next campground. It was okay with our child. The camping spots in that area are within walking distance to the nature center and playground. The bathrooms are not new but clean (and very hot during this stay). There are clean pay showers attached to the backside of the restroom. Park was very nice and was well cared for. Our family will definitely stay here again, probably in the fall when it is cooler. 

Summer Scorcher

So sick of just sitting at home. Wait a minute .... we have a portable home. We have probably camped around 8 times since March. I we can do distance or virtual learning from any place that we can use the hot spot on our phones. Love the camping hate the “Rona”. Still haven’t caught any fish. Guess we’ll try again next year since we have winterized. At least for now....we shall see. 

Corona Free Camping

In order to camp here you’ll have to reserve a spot online. This was very easy to do and they show you a picture of the individual campsite online. It’s $33 for a night with a camper/trailer/rv. It may be cheaper to just reserve a tent spot. 

We stayed here for one night in our Rooftop Tent. We enjoyed our stay, there are level cement slabs with full hookups. 
Also every site had a fireplace, a grill and a little table/bench set. We stayed at the lakeside/lakeview loop and had a nice view of Lake Eufaula. 

The bathrooms were clean enough, they’re a bit outdated, so I’m sure they’ll never look super duper clean. It was fine though. BUT: non of the women’s bathroom stalls was lockable. (One lock was broken and the other stall’s door couldn’t be closed because the toilet paper dispenser was in the way... I’m sure this is gonna be something they’ll fix before the main season starts again, though) 
The one shower stall with the best shower head also wasn’t lockable. Showers were warm (water &amp; the room itself). 

The campground itself was pretty quiet but about every hour or so we heard a train horn. Which was loud and excessive. Like not one short „choooooo“ but more like a „choooo chooo chooochoochoooo“ for more than 10-15s, all throughout the night. 

Overall we had a good time though! 

Nice Campground but pricey 

Wonderful park, wish we had more time here. Called day of and staff were very helpful to locate an available spot.  Beautiful area and camp sites! Am definitely coming back.

Very nice state park with lots of trees and large sites.  They have a marina, as well as campground, and even a frogatorium!!  We loved biking around the park and enjoyed the peace and quiet this time of year.  We missed all the trees in bloom, but can only imagine how pretty it is.

Very nice camping ground. A little old. Spaces were roomy. Tent spaces under trees, a little unkept. Paid $40 for an RV spot which worked out well. Toilets and showers ok, not so clean.

Campsites are really great with trees, concrete pads, hook-ups and beautiful scenery.  But showers in our loop have been out-of-order for sometime but repaired on day 2 of our stay.  Still need a good cleaning.   Staff are very helpful - even drove our firewood to our site since we were on bikes.  Nature Center could use a face lift and fountains around the property were dry.  Marina &amp; shore areas just recovering from heavy rains and flooding and staff working to get things back in order.  The state of OK should definitely invest in this park, as it could be really special!
