Grassland Boondocking

Roughly ten designated sites sit atop a plateau in the North Dakota badlands near campgrounds around Medora, with big rigs able to access the area via drive-in roads. Sites are spaced well apart. Campers report open sightlines across the badlands landscape, and the layout keeps sites separated enough for privacy without isolating anyone from neighboring campers. Alcohol is permitted, and hiking trails are accessible from the area. Pack in what you need, as on-site amenities are minimal.
