Dakota Prairie Grasslands

Hilltop dispersed camping on a smaller dirt track off the main grassland road, Dakota Prairie Grasslands gives campers open sightlines across a wide stretch of North Dakota prairie. The access road is good enough for vans without four-wheel drive, and the double track to individual sites runs about 50 feet off the main route. No hookups, no facilities. Campfires are permitted, and the grasslands cover enough ground that site options are plentiful. Campers exploring places to camp near Medora will find nearby dispersed alternatives as well, including West River Road Dispersed — Little Missouri National Grassland roughly a mile to the northeast. Bring all water and supplies before heading out.
