The Bike Farm

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Generators stay silent at this bike-focused campground where well-maintained gravel roads wind through wooded sites in the North Carolina mountains. The Bike Farm caters to cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize trail access over luxury amenities, with on-site mountain bike trails connecting directly to camp spots. Multiple access options accommodate different camping styles, from drive-in sites for car campers to walk-in areas for those seeking more separation from vehicle traffic.

Staff members earn consistent praise for their local knowledge and willingness to share trail recommendations, whether visitors arrive on two wheels or four. The campground maintains clean facilities including primitive hot showers and multiple restroom buildings distributed throughout the property. Firewood sells for $5 per bundle of ten pieces, though campers can bring their own. Sites include picnic tables, and the pack-in, pack-out policy keeps the grounds tidy without garbage collection.

Access roads climb steeply in sections, requiring good tire tread for safe navigation. Cell service reaches most areas of the campground. The location provides convenient staging for rides in nearby Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, and Mills River trail systems. Nick summarizes the experience: "Friendly staff, clean campsites, close to everything." For cyclists and campers who value trail proximity over polished amenities, this mountain base delivers direct outdoor access.

Hidden Gem

This is a great Campground if you're not looking for a bunch of frou-frou amenities. The road is well maintained but can be very steep in places so make sure you have some tread on your tires. No garbage cans so pack in and pack out. No generators allowed. But clean campsites and plenty of toilets. There's even a primitive hot shower. The people are very friendly both the campers and the people who operate the camp. Wood is available on-site $5 for 10 pieces or you can pack your wood in. I will definitely be back.

Amazing camping/biking

Stayed multiple times, this place rocks! The staff is super cool and laid back. The trail system is awesome. It’s super nice being able to bike straight from your camp and go ride. The out door showers are bad ass as well! Such a cool environment.

Great for any Pisgah adventure

If you’re looking for a paved place to park your 30 foot long fifth wheel this isn’t it. If what you are looking for is a great place to get out in nature and get away from the crowds you’re in the right spot. The staff here are super friendly and always down to give advice about how to experience the area, even if you aren’t on a bike. If you are on a bike there are a few trails right on site and the campground is close to mills river, Pisgah, and DuPont state forest. TLDR: Friendly staff, clean campsites, close to everything.
