    Lovely place to camp!

We recently stayed overnight at Wallace Meadows and it was one of the most lovely places we've ever been to! Rich was very friendly and welcoming and the hookup & amenities they offered for a fee were excellent. The bath house was spotless and we each enjoyed a nice hot shower! The property is surrounded by trees and it was very tranquil. There's even a guesthouse which could possibly accommodate fellow travelers who may not have an RV. There's also a laundry room but we didn't use it. They have a background in hospitality and it really shows. Before we left, we purchased some fresh eggs from their farm, beautifully packaged and delicious! We will return to North Carolina. There's so much to see here and we'll definitely return to Wallace Meadows Farm.

    Oyster Point Campground

    Peaceful and remote

Oyster Point Campground is no frills. But vault toilets were well maintained and cleaned.ย

Campsites are large and spread out. Logs were at each campsite when we arrived,ย  great for firewood or for seating around the campfire.ย

Campground sits along a body of water, but no water access from any sites. At the entrance to campground there are hiking trails.

Area is remote. Closest shopping was more than 10 miles away.

    Host was friendly and personable.

Highly recommend and will return again ourselves.

    Oyster Point Campground

    Simple spot near the water

Not a whole lot going on at this site. The trail was washed out without warning. There are toilets available without running water. Bugs were bad but thatโ€™s to be expected. Not a bad place, not great either.

    Wilmington KOA

    Nice spot with warm pool

The KOA was kept up to good KOA standards. The pool was big and warm, easy for swimming while maintaining social distancing. One of our favorite parts was that you could walk a short path to a delightful coffee shop with great food and drinks and nice outdoor seating. Our girls also enjoyed the smooth roads for skateboarding. Because of Covid, many of the fun features were closed (playground, Gaga pit, jump pad).

    Camp Ocean Forest

Costly but good ocean front views.

Right next to the pier, walking distance to the water, and amazing views. Many permanent campers. The sites are fairly small and everything is very cramped.ย The bathhouses are not in great condition. You are paying for the location as it is close to everything. Amazing location!

    Water Views and Spacious Sites

Oyster Point: Great sites. Sites w water view are best.

Overall Rating: 4 Price 2023: $ 5 w interagency pass Usage during visit: Light Site Privacy: Underbrush has been trimmed it looks like. So, there is not as much privacy between sites. Site Spacing: Very wide sites .
Site surface: Gravel Reservations: Yes Campground Noise: Quiet during our stay.
Road Noise: Secluded. No public roads nearby. Through Traffic in campground: No Electric Hookup: No Sewer Hookup: No Dump Station: No Potable Water Available: Yes. One or two spigots. Generators:Allowed Bathroom: Pit toilet is clean and well stocked. Showers: No Pull Throughs: Site 13 is a pull through Cell Service (AT&T): 2 - 4 bars Setting: Pine forest with a more of Newport River Weather: 72 fall day high. Bugs: No mosquitoes. Must be gone for the year Solar: Maybe too forested in some spots. In site # 5 at 9:00 AM we had some solar charge happening Host: Tonia is a delightful host Rig size: Our site would fit a large rig. Sites: I took pictures of the sites on the shore side of the campground. They are the best, but all sites here I would be happy with. Sites #9 and #11 have pathways to a very small private beach. Site 1 is close to a pit toilet. Maybe a smell issue now and then.

Rich was very friendly and welcoming and the hookup & amenities they offered for a fee were excellent," notes one visitor to Wallace Meadows Farm.

Beach exploration: Camping near Hubert provides access to nearby beaches like Emerald Isle. "The barrier Island's are only 5 minute ride over the bridge," mentions a camper at Goose Creek Campground who enjoyed the coastal setting.

Farm experiences: Beyond traditional camping and glamping in Hubert, North Carolina, some sites offer unique agricultural activities. "My grandkids got to feed the cows and the walk around the farm was very nice. Educational opportunities: Some campgrounds offer unique learning experiences. "We befriended our neighbors who took us to the lighthouse at the southern end of the island, which was beautiful!" shares a visitor at South Core Banks Beach Camping, highlighting historical attractions accessible from camping areas.

Safety considerations: Research campground security features before booking, especially for glamping with children. "We loved it here, it was right off a main road but quiet. The deluxe tent sites were very nice with a covered sitting area and soft pads for our tent," notes a visitor at Wilmington KOA, appreciating the balance of accessibility and tranquility.

Spacing between sites: For family privacy, seek campgrounds with well-separated accommodations. "The sites were well spaced as well," adds the Wilmington KOA visitor, noting this important feature for families seeking both community and privacy during their glamping stay.

Utility connections: Check available hookups when planning your glamping trip with an RV. "Extremely nice campground with 4 RV sites (50 Amp) and water service. Dump station is easy access upon arrival or departure," reports a visitor to Wallace Meadows Farm.

Site surfaces: Ask about pad materials and levelness. "Each site has 12x12 concrete pads to restrict tracking sand and/or dirt into RV unit," notes the same Wallace Meadows Farm visitor, highlighting a feature that improves the glamping experience.

Access considerations: RV glamping near Hubert requires attention to approach roads. "Easy entrance and exit from main highway to site area. Trees are well maintained to prevent brushing RV upon entrance and exit," shares another Wallace Meadows visitor, appreciating the thoughtful design.
