Fires Creek Hunters Camp/Huskins Branch

Huskins Branch Campground is relatively easy to access. It's situated directly across from the Fires Creek day use area. The campground consists of a small loop drive where you can park your vehicle. The road is generally passable for most vehicles, though it may be a bit uneven in spots. Look for the loop across from the day use area, pull in, and find your preferred camping spot. There are no assigned sites or check-in procedures - simply arrive and set up camp wherever you prefer along the loop.

The Fires Creek Recreation Area offers numerous outdoor activities just steps from your campsite. Fires Creek itself is directly across from the campground, perfect for fishing, wading, or simply enjoying the water. The day use picnic area provides a pleasant spot for meals and relaxation. Hiking opportunities abound in the surrounding forest. Wildlife viewing and photography are popular, and the area's natural setting makes it ideal for stargazing given the absence of light pollution. During appropriate seasons, the area also serves as a base for hunting (as suggested by the "Hunters Camp" portion of its name).

Huskins Branch Campground is a primitive camping area with minimal amenities. The site features a concrete outhouse but no potable water. Huskins Branch stream runs through the middle of the camping area, providing a natural water source most of the year (though this should be treated before use). Dispersed fire rings are available throughout the area. There are no designated campsites or hookups of any kind, and cell service is not available. Campers should come prepared with all necessary supplies including drinking water.
