Free and first-come, this dispersed camp in Nantahala National Forest runs along a short loop road across from a day-use area on Fires Creek. No potable water is available, though Huskins Branch flows through the middle of the site for most of the year. A concrete outhouse serves the area, fire rings are scattered around the loop, and firewood can be gathered from the surrounding woods. Cell service is unreliable here. The loop fits roughly 15 vehicles, and campers can collect wood on-site. Pets are welcome at no cost. Those wanting hookups or a more developed setup can look at Walnut Hollow RV Ranch, about 4 miles south, or browse dispersed spots near Nantahala National Forest for comparable no-fee options in the region.
