Description
Cowee Campground is a small private campground in the Cowee Valley of Franklin, North Carolina. We offer 6 RV full hookups, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 35 feet approx. We also have 8 tent sites with sand base in a tree forest with plenty of shade. We have a brand new bathhouse, which was designed and curated with love. Each bathroom is private for personal use. There are 4 private bathrooms. 2 with full baths (shower or tub/shower, toilet and sink) and 2 with toilet and sink only. The clawfoot tub bathroom also has a private back deck for an open air experience. We also have a laundry room with full size washer dryer and fridge for a one time charge of $5.00 per reservation. Communal fire pit and grill provided.
The location is off the main road and a few minutes in on a dirt/gravel road and quite tranquil. Walks in the woods and just chilling with the cattle in the field below are encouraged. Deer and Wild Turkey roam the property regularly. For Rockhounds the Sheffield Gem Mine is a 5 minute walk. We also have a cabin for rent on airbnb/vrbo if you're planning a family get together and need to meet the needs of multiple ages and preferences.
This campground is brand new, we have worked to keep it as natural as possible, so you are truly in the woods camping. Though there is also area for car camping if that is your preference, where you can pitch your tent next to your car.

From Cowee Creek Rd, turn left on Leatherman Gap Rd, you'll see a large sign for Sheffield Mine this is also Sheffield Farms Rd. Take the road and you'll be driving in on a dirt/gravel road, follow the signs to the mine. You'll see a large sign with Cowee Campground on your left. This is where the hookups for the RVs are and just past them are the tent sites and bathhouse. The road in to the bathhouse is a loop so that you can loop back out onto the access road when it's time to leave.
