Welcome to our slice of paradise! Creekside Campsite is a flat, open, grassy space by a bold mountain stream that is surrounded by large oak trees. You will have plenty of space and privacy at this site. We allow up to 4 tents and 8 people per booking. Our creekside campsite is a walk-in site that is approximately 300 feet from the parking area (2 minute walk). Follow the signs that lead you along the flat, mowed trail where you can pitch your tent(s) on flat ground by the creek.
Hang out in the gazebo in the 2 zero-gravity chairs while you listen to the bold mountain stream. The gazebo has charming lights to enjoy your dinner at the picnic table or play cards at night. There's an outlet for charging devices there if needed.
Grill out on our new charcoal barbecue grill. (Please bring your own charcoal.) Hang out around our beautifully crafted stone fire circle. We sell firewood for $8/bundle (pay by cash, PayPal or Venmo). We also have a unique see-saw / balance board that is infinitely adjustable and fun for all ages and sizes. It's great fun for one, two, or more people.
There is a clean porta-potty located by the parking area.
This campsite is on our 22 acres of flat land in the South Toe Valley at the base of Mt Mitchell (highest peak on the East Coast) and the Black Mountain range. We have mowed walking paths where you can enjoy the wildflowers, wildlife, and beautiful views. The South Toe River is less than a half mile away and is a great place to swim, fish, tube, kayak and canoe. There are great hiking trails nearby, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is 8 miles away (via a NC Scenic Byway). This is a rural area with several cute little towns that have restaurants, bars, and shopping: Burnsville (12 miles away), Spruce Pine (16 miles away), and Little Switzerland (11 miles away). We live in a log cabin on the property near the paved road.

Our address is 2880 White Oak Rd, Burnsville, NC 28714. Once you turn down our paved driveway, park by the blue house that's under construction. The porta-potty that is for your use is located here. (Please DO NOT park next to the green garage, as this is our private work area.) Look for the treehouse to the right of the green garage. Follow the grassy path that passes on the right side of the treehouse. You will cross a small gravel road. Continue down the grassy path until you see the gazebo on your left. Camp anywhere in the mowed area. There is a water spigot with potable well water. Turn on the lights in the gazebo by flipping the switch near where the lights are plugged in on one of the gazebo posts. There is an outlet on the same post if you need to charge a device. Please pack out all your trash! We offer firewood for sale for $8/armload. It is located under the right porch of the green garage.
