Wind off Lake Ontario reaches the campsites here before anything else does. Long Point State Park Campground sits on a narrow spit of land jutting into the lake near Three Mile Bay, and the exposure is real: reviewers consistently flag the wind as a factor, recommending windbreaks and advising campers to weight down gear. The terrain is open and grassy rather than forested, with flat sites that include fire rings and picnic tables. Cell service is minimal. The camp office sells ice and firewood, and a boat ramp and dock serve anglers and paddlers who can launch kayaks directly from their sites.
Amenities here are a step above typical state park facilities. Newer bathroom construction provides individual rooms with toilet, shower, and sink, which works well for families and couples. Some older bathrooms remain in use elsewhere in the park. Sites run $21 to $30 per night with electric, water, and sewer hookups available for RVs up to 40 feet. That said, one camper arrived to find their site waterlogged and got a Class C motorhome stuck up to the rear axle, so checking conditions before arrival matters. As Nancy G. notes, "best sites are hard to book ahead and are best for tents or small trailers."
The park draws repeat visitors and fills on weekends, particularly given its position near St. Lawrence River attractions. Weekdays after Labor Day tend to be quieter. Nearby, Shangri-La Marina Campground & Restaurant provides another water-access option in the area, and those planning a longer trip can browse campgrounds around Thousand Islands for additional stops. The season runs May 20 through September 4, and reservations are available. Pets are welcome.
Description
Long Point State Park is in a remote area, offering a peaceful, relaxing camping experience. Situated on a peninsula facing Chaumont Bay on Lake Ontario, the park is small and almost completely surrounded by water, with great views from anywhere in the park. Campsites are fairly open and grass-covered, with scattered trees, a playground, and picnic areas. The bay provides a protected harbor for boats, and Lake Ontario offers excellent boating and fishing opportunities. Constant lake breezes keep the park cool and mosquito-free.
Park Rules & Information:
- There is a recycling program in effect at the park.
- A laundry mat is located in Bathhouse #2.
- Please keep fires in designated areas only.
- Patrons must be 18 years of age to register for a site.
- There is no store at the park.
- Bagged ice and firewood sales are available at the park.
- No kegs allowed on campsites. No person under age 21 shall possess/consume alcohol.
- There are no beaches or swimming areas at this park.
- Overnight dockage is allowed during the camping season with a 2-week max. Seasonal dockage is not available at this time.
- There is a 14-night maximum stay rule during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day).

- Current proof of rabies inoculation is required at check-in (metal tags will not be accepted).
- At any time during your stay, pet owners may be required to provide proof of rabies inoculation upon request. Be sure to have this information available to present to park staff.
- Where pets are permitted, there is a maximum limit of 2 pets per site.
- Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6ft and under control at all times.
- Do not leave pets unattended and always clean up after them.
- Pet owners/permit holders are liable for any damage, personal injury, or nuisance caused by the pet.

LENGTH OF STAY: A camping party and their equipment may occupy a site for a maximum of 14 continuous nights. After which, the camping party and equipment must leave the site and facility for 48 hours before registering again for another site.
Please Note: To ensure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.
